Unlock Natural Potency: Why Cold-Pressed Oils Are Your Skin & Hair's Best Friend

by Canadian Grace < 10 Jun 2025

Choosing natural wellness and beauty products feels good — you’re saying yes to ingredients straight from nature. But have you ever wondered how those beautiful oils actually get from the plant to your skin or hair?

The answer lies in how they're extracted. At Canadian Grace, we believe the method matters — which is why we use cold-pressing, a process that preserves purity, potency, and results.

Beyond the Heat: The Gentle Power of Cold-Pressing

Think of it like juicing a fruit. You want all the vitamins and flavour — not something that's been boiled or stripped of nutrients.

Many traditional oil extraction methods use high heat or chemical solvents (like hexane). While they yield more oil quickly, they often destroy key nutrients or leave behind unwanted residues.

Cold-pressing is different. It’s a gentle, mechanical method where oils are extracted at low temperatures — usually below 49°C (120°F). No external heat. No chemicals. Just pure, nutrient-rich oil.

Why Cold-Pressing Matters for Your Self-Care

When oils are cold-pressed, they retain their natural vitamins (A, C, E), antioxidants, and fatty acids — all of which help nourish, protect, and repair your skin and hair.

These oils tend to:

  • Be richer in colour and aroma

  • Offer better skin absorption

  • Deliver more visible results

  • Feel fresher and closer to their original source

When you use cold-pressed oils, you're giving your body the real thing — not a diluted or damaged version.

The Canadian Grace Commitment: Purity and Potency for Canadian Women

As a 100% women-owned Canadian brand, we’re proud to bring you products that are ethically sourced, made in Canada, and processed with integrity. Cold-pressing aligns with our values — purity, effectiveness, and affordability.

Experience the Difference: Our Cold-Pressed Favourites

Here are three stars in our collection that showcase the power of cold-pressing:

Rosehip Oil
This vibrant oil is full of Vitamin A (retinoids) and Vitamin C. It brightens dull skin, helps fade scars and dark spots, and supports skin repair during tough Canadian winters.

Jojoba Oil
Structurally similar to your skin’s natural oils, it balances sebum production and deeply hydrates without clogging pores. It’s especially great for sensitive or acne-prone skin.

Argan Oil
Cold-pressed from Moroccan kernels, our Argan Oil is rich in Vitamin E and fatty acids. It hydrates dry patches, smooths frizz, and adds a soft, non-greasy glow to both skin and hair.

How to Use Cold-Pressed Oils

For Face:

  • Cleanse skin and apply toner

  • Warm 2–4 drops of oil in your hands

  • Press or lightly massage onto face and neck

  • Use AM, PM, or both

For Hair:

  • Scalp: Massage a few drops in, leave for 30+ mins or overnight, then wash

  • Ends: Smooth a tiny amount onto damp or dry hair

For Body:

  • Apply to damp skin after showering

  • Focus on elbows, knees, shins, or any dry patches

  • Use on cuticles to soften and nourish
